Defendr is a simple mobile application designed to help civilians anonymously report the activity of hostile forces, and document hazards such as landmines and unexploded ordnance, reducing the risk of harm to civilians.
The application was designed and built in a collaboration between British and Ukrainian technology companies to help organise the massive flow of civilian information being published across social media in a conflict environment.
By capturing the GPS coordinates, user submissions enable us to verify social media posts from the same area/event, massively reducing the time it would normally take to carry out manual geolocation.

The Defendr app does not require you to provide any personal information whatsoever. The app was deliberately designed this way to ensure no user data could ever be compromised. It’s completely anonymous to use.
Users can only send details relating to the location they are in at the time. As a result, the app cannot be subject to falsified information from third parties.
